Gas Prices on the Rise!!

Finally a day off to go play - ha! Who wants to go off to play with gas prices the way they are - up .39 in two weeks! Gouge, gouge, gouge.. guess the greedy gas mongers are at it again! ha! We are off to Yakima today - had planned to go there all last summer but just couldn't do it with gas prices so high - now they are on the rise so will run down there quick before the prices get any higher! Good grief.. when prices go too high we quit driving.. I would rather stay home than feed the gas gougers any more than I absolutely have to... Had a very, very busy Memorial weekend! Where did all those people come from. For the most part we had a good weekend. Campers were pretty good... only cut a few branches from bushes (a BIG No No) and only 1 big log to throw in dumpster! Dumpsters were FULL! We get a lot of neighbors in community that use our dumpsters (we figure that's better than having trash on ground) even though it cost an arm and leg for trash service. Met so

Clean up time Wish Poosh

We have now been working for the past few weeks and have our campsite a bit more cleaned up than this picture shows. There is always so much debris from the winter all over the place. We have cleaned roads and campsites and restrooms and were told we were the cleanest ever for opening day. ha! This has been quite a time for us. Upon arrival we did not have electricity so after 2 weeks of fussing with the electricity, replacing the transfer switch and finally resorting to taking rig into Ellensburg we learned it was the actual shore power! The wire (abt 100') there was a bad spot in the wire and the plug was loosely connected. Earl had checked the power source with a meter but apparently there is more than one sort of meter - so did not find at 1st. After expecting to have to replace the inverter we learned it was just the wire so now we are fixed and have tv and everything... we are now happy campers. Earl did have an MRI for his head and all we know is he needs to see a n

Swine Flu - stomach flu - who cares??

After all this hype about the stomach flu - yes we get hit - bam! Big time...1st Earl had the flu (no chills, no fever, no sore throat) - just icky stomach flu - or so we think. He just get stronger and bam - it's my turn! So we have had a very interesting week getting to work again and fighting the flu bug! Had our 1st mouse this morning too so guess we really are back in the woods! ha! The physical work out we are getting with the clean up of the campground is great and making sleep blissful. We have not seen the elk this year although others have reported seeing them and we have seen evidence of them. ha! No sign of deer yet either but did see a snowshoe bunny yesterday!

Back at Wish Poosh

We are back at Wish Poosh for the summer. Came into the campground yesterday... everything was working fine when we unhooked from daughter Mary's place and we thought just to be safe better fill up with water and empty tanks... okay that done we came in full and clean. Good thing.. propane delivered today so that is a good thing but no water in campground yet and the BIG thing is no electricity! Not because of the park's fault but something went clunk in our rig when Earl turned the switch and now we are in the dark - figuratively speaking. It will be a week before an electrician can come out so he is wracking his brain trying to figure out if it is something he can fix. Oh fun.. Meanwhile clean up has begun in the campground. It is not nearly as bad as last year. The water is filling up in the lake fast so expect fisher people out as soon as park opens. We have less than 2 weeks but expect it will be plenty of time to get all in order. Not nearly as covered with debris

A visit to school

One of the joys of being a grandparent I guess are seeing your grandchildren when they perform at school. What a hoot! Our granddaughter is just beginning violin and they put on a performance at school. I wondered how it would be after listening to her practice at home and goodness - each child had a violin and each bow was heading in a different direction although the song they performed wasn't too bad really. Funny as all get out but bless their little hearts anyway.
