Happy Thanksgiving to All

Plans keep changing and I hear change is good - ha! We decided to just stay where we are for another month instead of moving rig around to LaConner and back... saves fuel and worry and with Earl's blood being too thick we just have so many unknowns... thought it best to stay put.. so here we stay with plans still to leave area Dec 26th now... That could change too but we hope not.. This fall has been so wet and windy... Otherwise all good here. Looking forward to spending holiday with family. Want to wish you all a very Happy Thanksgiving too. We have so much to be thankful for this year and glad we actually take a day to be thankful!

Earl is home!

Picked Earl up this morning! He had choice to stay in hospital or come home and administer his own shots (twice a day to his stomach area) and he chose to do that so picked him up this morning! We have had a time getting the perscription filled (not common and very expensive).. if we had known what the perscription would cost he would have stayed in hospital where he was covered 100% but oh well. What is a little sticker shock to get your blood flowing. ha! We are both doing ok. He is happy to be out and about once again and I am glad to have him home too. I missed his adorable mug... Hopefully all will go ok. We certainly have a team working with us from the hospital so guess that is good.

The Mayflower -

Our grandson Micah had the special part of Captain Jones of the Mayflower for his class Thanksgiving play. What a hoot! These children all lined up on stage though and read their parts and did just fine. No jitters or shyness that I could see. They seemed to really enjoy it. Of course the teacher was in the back of audience with hand signals and whatever else she was doing. She looked like the one with the jitters. It was a lot of fun. The cookies they made earlier were the refreshments after the play. so much fun being around all these young people. Captain Jones has the black hat!

Making Cookies...

Yesterday I had great fun attending grandson Micah's class as helper... the children were divided into groups of 5 and we made cookies. They are learning fractions so they were to do the measuring and preparing dough. After cookies placed on sheets for baking they proceeded on to music class while cookies baked. I stayed behind (other moms did baking) and corrected papers for teacher. So much fun! What a mess but we all had a great time. Cookies were good too. I sampled one on my way out!

Great weather if you're a duck!

Here it is Thursday and another lovely day of rain and wind. Rain and wind and wind and rain... good for the rivers and mountains and ducks! We can't complain though, other parts of our wonderful country are parched dry! Always something to be thankful for even rain. Earl is doing pretty good. His numbers on his blood are getting better. We do not know when he will be coming home but expect in another day or two at the most. He is getting up and walking a good deal and getting great service and has a nice pleasant single room. Why hurry home? ha!

Early is back in hospital!!

We have finally found the culprit of all of Early's discomfort and misery!!! Took him to the doctor 1st thing yesterday and with her keen sense of knowledge sent us to hospital for ct scans where they found blood clots on his lung! This being very serious they admitted him to hospital and immediately started treatment to disolve these little buggars! Unfortunately we did not know the signs to watch for... Fortunately we now know a little about blood clots and what to look for AND Earl is on meds to fix this problem... so we have a lot to be very thankful for.. it's another one of lifes lessons we had to learn the hard way but we were fortunate to be able to catch this before it got any worse... Now, they will keep him a few days on some heavy blood thinner and then give him something when he comes home... They expect we will be able to continue with our plans for our trip to Hawaii and to head south so that is the good news. Talked to Earl this morning and he had a good

Rain, Rain Go Away, come again another day!

Little update on Early - he was doing fairly well then the rain came and settled in and our walks came to not... next thing we knew he had regressed a bit.. so, now back to the beginning with taking baby steps. He was able to get in to see the eye specialist he had been referred to so hoping the new prism glasses will help until he can have eye surgery to fix the eye muscles... that can't take place for about 9 mo to a year, so we'll just hope the new glasses do the trick! Meanwhile, he is doing good otherwise. We just have to take things a little slower...hoping the trip to the sunny Hawaiian islands and to see that new grandbaby are going to do the trick and help with this healing process!

Disney On Ice

Image
One of the advantages of being the in the area with the grandchildren is we get an opportunity to go with them to see Disney on Ice... the story of Tinkerbell. Of course there are children all over the place dressed as their favorite disney characters... little tiny Minnie Mouse's running around along with Tinkerbell's and even Cars characters. I was invited to go with Mary's two plus friends of theirs. Bekah was Tinkerbell of course and her friend Em was Fawn... never heard of fawn before but guess there is a movie out there with these characters... It was fun... wonderful how those ice skaters can dress up like they do and it's all timed so well... fun for all. The snocones only cost $13.00 each!!! I do not know what the price of popcorn or cotton candy was and frankly my dear I really don't give a ____! ha! A little too rich for my blood but the show was only about an hour and a half so we weren't going to starve before leaving there. ha! Em's m
