Munday's the Arizona Roadrunners

While in LaConner we found this group of Oystercatchers visiting. They were only there twice and since we have never seen in Washington before enjoyed finding them here. It was very cool with bald eagle sitting in tree above, Great Blue Heron wading in the shoreline, these birds on the beach and Kingfisher flitting about all at the same time. Love all the birds...

Sitting on top of the world ; not exactly, more like Goose Rock looking out at the San Juan Islands on a picture perfect day (very rare) here in Washington State this year! Took the day and picnic lunch and hiked up to the top of the rock and looked out over the lovely water there and watched birds (hawk and bald eagle among others) as they soared across the sky. What a day, picked just right! Pays to listen to weather man sometimes....

After our hike up to Goose rock we climbed down to the beach to enjoy the sights of the Deception Pass bridge and even saw Mt Baker peeking thru... what a treat. The boats going in and out of the pass with the tide rushing back in... There were people all over the place and parking lots full... After a full day in the sun took a little ride into Oak Harbor for an ice cream treat! As ol' Lawrence would say, wonderful, wonderful!

A view of the marina from the shore at Friday Harbor in the San Juan Islands. We walked all over town and visited many little shops. Treated ourselves to a delicious ice cream dish sitting here looking at this view! So pretty and so nice and warm... It has been years since we had been over here so enjoyed it all the more.

Delightful to time our day out in the San Juans on the state ferry to pass another ferry as it was passing in front of Mount Baker! Can you believe it? Absolutely lovely ride to Friday Harbor and back to Anacortes... Could not have asked for a more picture perfect day!

Watching movies with granddaughter Rebekah and her friend Emily. The children really wore us out between movies, swimming, hiking, cupcake decorating, bike riding and general on the go every second of the day! Wonderful.. loved it all
