Seattle Flight Museum

As we have traveled across the country we have visited a number of air museums but have to say this one is very nice. We haven't been here for a number of years but each time they have added something new. Now they have a separate section for WW1 and WW2 and a covered walkway over the highway to board Air Force One and the Concorde! They "grands" had a wonderful time getting in and out of cockpits of various planes and simulators. Wonder way to spend an afternoon and barely see it all! We were informed that the reason we could not board the 747 which we really wanted to do is for lack of volunteers! They have lines miles long on sunny days and never enough volunteers to open everything up .. too bad. This outing was a heck of a lot of fun and so glad we were able to take the "Grands" with us.

Wallace Falls State Park, Gold Bar, WA

Some days are the best; like when we took our "grands" hiking up to Wallace Falls recently. They are just as someone said, like little billy goats romping through the woods and up the trail as if they were easily playing in the park. No huffing and puffing for them! Wonderful really they have so much vitality! We huffed and puffed a little - packed in a picnic lunch and stopped along the way for nourishment! ha! Disappointed the sun never did come completely out but no rain so that was a big plus... Exhausted by the end of the trail but worth every step. The woods were just covered in moss and ferns - lovely really..

Spring time

Image
Love being in the northwest to see all the spring flowers in bloom. There is something very special about seeing all the new flowers and new sprouts on trees this time of year - Not every state bursts with color as the Nortwest is so fortunate to have each year! This time of year is generally bad for me with allergies but for some unknown reason this year has not been bad so far.. better knock on wood. Loving all the new colors and fresh new sprouts!

Edmonds Beach front

A sunny (albeit cool) day we joined some friends for lunch down at Arnie's in Edmonds. Always a fun thing to do and then walked down the beach. The changes were a surprise. They have removed that old gas dock and opened up a whole section for dogs to run wild with their owners. We saw so many dogs and they were all playing and romping with each other - would have thought they might have fought but did not see any signs of that sort of behavior. The blue sky and spring flowers were very pleasing indeed.

Easter Sunday

Wonderful to be among family at the holidays and this one was especially nice because not only did Scarlett and Kenny join in but brother Mark was there with nephew Jim and his special squeeze Theresa. Mary did a great job on dinner and it was great catching up with Jason's brothers family too. All the little ones played and had a wonderful time -all the while the rain POURED down... amazing but we were all warm and safe!

Egg Decorating Time

Image
Things have certainly changed over time... granddaughter Rebekah did most all the work decorating eggs this year with very little supervision... These kiddos grow so darn fast.. It was a real pleasure though, not much clean up necessary... then on to decorating cupcakes... she loves to be doing something all the time.. Her little brother Micah was busy playing star wars... too much...

Welcome back to Lynnwood

Image
Our 1st weekend back in Lynnwood and daughter Scarlett came over along with Kenny. Just chatting and enjoying seeing the family again when he noticed a few fire trucks. Amazing we did not "hear" the sirens... oh well, we saw plenty when we walked outside and saw all the neighbors becoming "looky loos" ha!. One of the neighbor's homes was definetly on fire. At first was just the garage (attached) but spread to the corner of the house that was attached. So sad. Nice home with lovely manicured yard! No idea what cause was but all 4 people escaped unharmed so that was the good news. Great response time from the Fire Dept, police and 1st aid.

Long Beach, WA

Image
After a very windy, rainy, stormy stay at Pacific City we continued north to Long Beach, Wa. Here we stayed about a week and had 1 nice day... we did go into town that day and visited all the little shops that were open! This town is feeling the crunch but then it is a precarious town anyway in this outpost of a location. Rain seems to be in the forecast where ever we go...
