Hiking in Sedona

Image
Picture perfect day for hiking in Sedona. One of our favorite places to hike and today we chose to go up the back side of Cathedral Rock! Not too far but about 600 ft gradual climb... that part wasn't bad; it was this smooth rock to step up onto that gave me the worst time! We loved it all and met so many nice friendly folks along the trail. So good to be back in God's country and getting out for some much needed exercise!

Verde Valley TTN, Cottonwood, AZ

It is a lovely day in AZ and has been a winner so far today! Started early with stop at Camping World for new shocks on RV then on to Cottonwood from Apache Junction. Countryside RV was a wonderful park with so many friendly people and fun activities it's hard to beat... Then we made out of Camping world early and were set up just in time to make the weekly cribbage game tournament! This week I came in 2 nd place which is HUGE for me! I am so happy. They are doing it a little different this year by collecting $1.25 from each player and dividing up the kitty to the top three winners. Came in 2 nd place but 3 points! A lot of fun with some very wonderful folks. So nice to see some of the same people from last year. Feels just like being home.

Onward to Apache Junction, AZ

For now we are in a reciprical park with Thousand Trail called Countryside RV here in Apache Junction. It is a very nice park with many full time folks and a lot of us still roaming about... Had to get her by 3rd so we could lend our car to son Roy while his is being shipped from Hawaii. Had a nice short visit with him while we dined at Claim Jumper. Next day, thanks to brother John we picked Reisa and baby Jaylee up from airport and took them to Camp Verde (1/2 way point) to meet with her mom. She is borrowing a vehicle from her folks too while theirs is being shipped.... Another day, dear friend Mary Lou came by for a nice visit and took us to lunch. Always wonderful to see Mary Lou when we are in the area. She has a very nice home in Goodyear. Met up with another good friend Dave from CT. He is here in the park too for now. We all took a ride out to Tortilla Flats for lunch. They are reputed to have the juiciest Hamburgers anywhere but I would not agree. Enjoyed the rid

Short stop in Quartzsite

After leaving Menifee we stayed overnight at the Spotlight 29 Casino in Palm Desert. Then on to Scadden wash BLM area at Quartzsite. The drive was a little tense since we ran the fuel gauge down to 1/16 of a tank! We did okay though and saved some money since fuel is quite a bit less than in California! After getting settled we stopped in for a fun quick visit with the Thompson's and then later supper at Silly Al's with Thompson's and our friends from Wish Poosh; Don and Sally. Fun to see everyone and get caught up on what every one has been doing.
