Deming, New Mexico




From El Paso, TX we drove on to a SKP (Escapees) park in Deming, NM. We had stayed here back in 2001 and it is right on the way ... this time we found they had a motel next door with a wonderful breakfast buffet... we were not the only ones who had heard of this place as we noted a number of Nascar transport trucks in the parking lot including one for FedEx and two for the NATIONAL GUARD! I don't know about you but I was surprised to think out hard earned tax $ went for this type of advertising... not just one car either but 2? oh well, guess they have to attract new folks one way or another...

A short visit with family

Always happy to see family, we took advantage of a few days off and drove over (in car only) to see daughter Mary and her family in Las Vegas. We stayed in rental cabin at Thousand Trails which was much more cost effective than driving rig over... wonderful to see them as always. Jason had never been there before so we walked our legs off visiting the various "shows" and hotels. The grandkids loved it and we loved seeing them. This is picture from Sam's Town where they have a waterfall show in afternoon.

Ballard Locks

While visiting the Pacific Northwest this summer we visited the Ballard Locks.  Always a fun place when the weather is nice and the boaters are busy going through the  locks.  Didn't have much time to stay and picnic but enjoyed the outing just the same.The grand children are about grown and was fun to spend some time with the family.

Merry Christmas!

This year has been so different for us with decorating.  1st time with real tree in 13 years!  We have ornaments from all over the country so all with memories attached besides older ones we did manage to hang on to when we 1st went full-timing.  We even have a few strings of lights out in the front yard.  Our neighbors were feeling like grinch after seeing our house so have joined in the fun of decorating too.  It has been a busy time - went to Senior Talent show here in our little community and that was fun.  92 year old lady in red sequin dress; wow!  She looked and sang like 92 but she was having a gay ol time and we loved it!  I was impressed with the "tappers"; a group of about 6 ladies all seniors with their old tap dancing skills and the cutest outfits that one in particular had the skill to make for all!  Very nice indeed.  Last evening had a local church choir put on a show for us older folks which was very nice and so great t...
