Working our way out of Texas

Our journey from Harlingen took us thru the towns of Laredo, and Del Rio with a stop over at Amistad Nat'l Rec Area for a night and from there we limped at 35 mph (top speed) to Sanderson, TX - we had planned to go on to Big Bend Nat'l Park but with the engine acting up revised plan. Since Sanderson has a population of about 20 and no other establishments besides the RV park we spent our time calling around to learn what was wrong with engine and what it would take to get it FIXED! After learning it would cost about $500.00 for a shop in Fort Stockton to drive the 65 miles with a ($20.00) filter for the engine we decided to try to get there ourselves. So early the next day we too off and made it fine to Fort Stockton where we found this cute little guy. We made it to the shop, spent a short time while they replaced the filter then continued on to El Paso before leaving the "Lone Star State" behind.
