Hiking in Sedona -


Our plan has been to get out once a week or so and do little hike since there are so many wonderful hiking paths in this area! One of the "pickle ball friends" suggested we all go to the Airport mesa in Sedona for a hike around it.. only about a 200' climb so not much elevation change.. We (Jim & Tracy, Oland, Tom and Margey, Earl and I) all hoofed around this mesa with fantastic views of Sedona... Only drawback was that was the 1 day the clouds moved in just at sunset... ugh... no pretty sunset from the mesa but we did have a good hike and found a neat place to take others... We will have to try to get over there another day when the sky is blue!!!

Hingham, MA

Before leaving Hingham I finally was able to get a picture of this sign.  Massachusetts has one for each of their towns and it's such a kick to drive from one town to another and see this sign with date of settlement started.  Hard to get pictures because you don't know where the town line begins and there is no place to pull over for a quick stop and picture.  It's a bummer. On this one I was lucky enough after a month to be driving towards sign and 1st at stoplight with camera next to me. ha!  All these towns are so historic and have some wonderful history.  Too bad so many have been neglected.  Roads are terrible in most places and some are really run down while others thrive.. just like anywhere.  Just interesting observations. I was taken so much with Hingham because we lived there for 5 weeks and it was so CLEAN!  Loved the manicured yards and over 1800 historic homes and some still in residence of 13 generations!  That is something in this young country with so littl

Taliesin West

We were surprised to have Earl III come down for a very short visit in Aug 2017 and took him up to Sedona and Taliesin West to see Frank Lloyd Wright's art school.  Very interesting tour and unique setting.  Of course homes are crowding in on this area now so not the seclusion that was intended when originally built.

Front porch

The new wall has received it's 1st coat!  It really looks so different... It's hard to want to put too much yard furniture out when we will be leaving for a time so hesitant to get that all set up at this time.  Thinking and looking though and for now think we will make do with what we have...   It is really wonderful having the palm tree for some shade.  In time we will put a roof on and perhaps a shade we can use during the time the sun is setting in the west and hitting the porch the time we like sitting out best - early evening... we'll see.  One thing at a time.
