Only in Texas

Image
After traveling to each and every State we find Texas is probably the one state with the best sense of humor and very proud of the "Lone Star". At the Houston Space Center they serve french fries in the shape of the 5 pointed star and along the Katy freeway is the star again. We find either the star or the shape of the state on freeways, signs, flags whatever... the other thing we noticed this time visiting this state is there are signs to obey signs... Apparently this sign was in someone's way!

Lake Conroe, Texas

Image
Lake Conroe is about 50 miles north of Houston. We are at a Thousand Trails park here with all the amenities. It has been a bit cool to participate much and we have been busy with reorganizing too. Pretty when the sun is out though on the lake. This is a good sized lake and has a fair sized marina for this type of park. They do have two tennis courts and two pickleball courts so that is nice. Now if only the weather would cooperate!

Big Thicket National Preserve, Texas

Image
Our friend Dave invited us out for a hike at the this national preserve northeast of Houston. Not much to see this time of year but nice to get out for a hike again anyway. This was one of those areas rich in natural resources prior to discovery in the 1800's. After man discovered of course logging stripped of most trees and then they drilled for oil and after using up the land it was pretty much left again... the National Parks has taken over handling of land now and it is coming back but of course this takes many years. Interesting to see and imagine it could be quite pretty in spring when the wildflowers are in bloom.

What's with the hair Cyndy?

For those of you who are wondering why my hair looks like heck but are too polite to comment - I want to let everyone know that hopefully very soon I will be back to may old self again with a neat, clean, SHORT, hairdo. This past year I have been growing out my hair so that granddaughter Rebekah and I can donate our hair to cancer patients. It is something we can do together and something that is a way of giving. I have to say that PATIENCE is the key here. For anyone who has long hair or deals with hairdos etc knows long hair can be a challenge and this has been a BIG one for me! I do try to keep it back most of the time but I have never been one who loves playing with hair so this has been very tough on me. The requirement is to have a ponytail at least 10" long and I am nearly there. We are hoping to be at that mark by the time we see each other again this spring.

Pictures of Interior

Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of how it looks inside. Yes, there is a 71/2ft ceiling so lot's of space inside. Nice countertop too which helps quite a bit.

A New Coach - A New Name - A New Beginning - of sorts

Here we are in the "Lone Star" state and once again have purchased a new coach. This time we switched from Mfg as well so have changed our name as the "Blueroo" is no more... Our new coach is a "See Ya" made by Alfa in Orange County, California. We are no longer Blue either so that takes care of our email address as well... We are now a larger coach with 2 slides, a few feet longer and several feet taller! Our new home has all the amenities including a washer/dryer, double door fridge/freezer with a portable freezer in the basement storage compartment. We also have a convection oven/microwave and still have the standard stovetop/oven. Our sofa is soft leather that will fold out to a good sized double bed for any guests... We have tile flooring in kitchen, hall and bathroom and more mirrors including in the bedroom on our large closet that slides out to allow more leg room in bedroom area. Our carpeting is green and the colors are a soft green/beige/pink
