Central Park, NYC

Since the 1st time we ever came to NYC I have always wanted to revisit Central Park. It was one of the priorities and we did.. wow!  This is a beautiful park. The fall colors are not all out in their splendor yet, but starting to show and it is fun to walk through a park in the city.  Not all cities have parks like this and of course this one is gigantic! Afterwards we walked out and saw this car - only in New York I guess.

Tomorrow is travel day and not looking forward to the ride thru New Jersey. I have terrible memories of the last time we traveled through that state - so conjested and the roads up here are so narrow (not made for RV's!) oh well. We are on our way out..  I have truly enjoyed my time here and so thankful for all we have been able to see and do these past few months.

A short visit with family

Always happy to see family, we took advantage of a few days off and drove over (in car only) to see daughter Mary and her family in Las Vegas. We stayed in rental cabin at Thousand Trails which was much more cost effective than driving rig over... wonderful to see them as always. Jason had never been there before so we walked our legs off visiting the various "shows" and hotels. The grandkids loved it and we loved seeing them. This is picture from Sam's Town where they have a waterfall show in afternoon.

Pacific City TTN, Pacific City, OR

This park is located about 20 miles south of Tillamook very close to the pacific ocean... lovely spot really and we have always enjoyed our visits to this park. For 1 thing they have wild bunnies and deer which adds a special flavor! Then they are right across the street from a very cool beach with tide pools... their very own 'haystack rock' which they like to boast about in town.. the park is on a hill and densly wooded which adds a bit of privacy... WHEN the weather is nice, it's a great place to have campfires... this year however our timing was off and we hit a very rainy, windy time! goodness the wind and rain pelted down on us and we stayed pretty much holed up inside..ha! Left today (the 29th) and had every thing hit us from rain, wind, hail, snow and finally sunshine! Lovely.. now at Long Beach, WA until Friday!!!

Merry Christmas!

This year has been so different for us with decorating.  1st time with real tree in 13 years!  We have ornaments from all over the country so all with memories attached besides older ones we did manage to hang on to when we 1st went full-timing.  We even have a few strings of lights out in the front yard.  Our neighbors were feeling like grinch after seeing our house so have joined in the fun of decorating too.  It has been a busy time - went to Senior Talent show here in our little community and that was fun.  92 year old lady in red sequin dress; wow!  She looked and sang like 92 but she was having a gay ol time and we loved it!  I was impressed with the "tappers"; a group of about 6 ladies all seniors with their old tap dancing skills and the cutest outfits that one in particular had the skill to make for all!  Very nice indeed.  Last evening had a local church choir put on a show for us older folks which was very nice and so great t...
