Ralph Waldo Emerson House

I do not know how many pictures we took while in Concord but wanted to share this of Ralph Emerson's house.  He did not live far from Waldon's pond a very popular swimming and place for recreation back in his day.  He wrote about it and took to task the abuse the people were having on the land the lake... it is now run by the parks department and no longer a place to just be trashed by the people.. His home is so typical of the time period and although seems quite large it was fairly standard judging by the homes we have seen throughout our stay here in MA.  Look at fence you will see dowels.  Odd but very nice touch.  Of course most homes do not have any fencing at all which gives park like look to their property.
Have to add this home is within walking distance of "Nathaniel Hawthorne's" home and Louisa May Alcott's home.  They were all within about a 2 block radius of each other.. the Author's homes as they are referred to in Concord.  It may be a little town a bit north west of Boston (16 miles as the crow flies) but it packs a punch!  Loved it!
