This park is located about 20 miles south of Tillamook very close to the pacific ocean... lovely spot really and we have always enjoyed our visits to this park. For 1 thing they have wild bunnies and deer which adds a special flavor! Then they are right across the street from a very cool beach with tide pools... their very own 'haystack rock' which they like to boast about in town.. the park is on a hill and densly wooded which adds a bit of privacy... WHEN the weather is nice, it's a great place to have campfires... this year however our timing was off and we hit a very rainy, windy time! goodness the wind and rain pelted down on us and we stayed pretty much holed up inside..ha! Left today (the 29th) and had every thing hit us from rain, wind, hail, snow and finally sunshine! Lovely.. now at Long Beach, WA until Friday!!!
This is our 2nd visit to this perfectly lovely area and memory did not fail... it is just as pretty as I remembered from 1st visit 6 yrs ago! Where does the time go???? This campground is only one close to Lexington and in one of the prettiest areas with horse farms surrounding park! A little on the pricey side but then we are in "horse" country!! I have never been a horsey person but I love this and so far we have only been out cemetery shopping for ancestors of Earl's. Met the greatest couple who were so helpful in finding a long lost family cemetery that really made our trip! Real Kentucky hospitality! Off for more excitement today and tomorrow before we head east...
