Usery Mountain Regional Park, Apache Junction, AZ

One of the prettiest places down here in the Southwest is Usery Park!  Just love this park.  We camped here many years ago now but our good friends were staying here so went over to visit for the day.  This park has really changed from when we camped here and reservations are a must although they do have an overflow area they still charge for.  The camping area is packed - and no wonder.  They have all sorts of wonderful hikes here, a visitor center, play grounds and wonderful views... unfortunately these pictures aren't all that great but it is a very pretty place.  The wind came up to try and blow us away a bit.  They do allow bird feeders and we have been told the birds have eaten 40 lbs of seed in a week !  Hungry little buggars! A nice variety of birds too and think all our peach faced loved birds went over to Usery - haven't seen any for a while.  Hummingbirds are still here so happy to still have them hanging around.
