Casa Grande National Monument

It has been a grand few months and very busy with acquiring new house and having to furnish it and get settled (so to speak) however took a drive out to Casa Grande to see monument of old ruins.  Amazing how these structures lasted for so many years and seemingly built of clay - roof was not added until 1920's as a little protection.  Most all are gone now and it's an interesting story how they settled out here in the flat valley when most of these types of people built their homes up against some protection like a hillside.  Enjoyed the visit and took time to shop at "prison store" in Florence.  Open to the public and guess they do a lot of farming and sell hay by the bale. Had never heard of this before.
