Bowling thrill!!!

Yesterday was my first time bowling 9 pin no tap (this is where you only have to get 9 pins down on your 1st ball to count as a strike) and it really paid off!!  Bowled 1st game 265!!!  Me, can you believe it?  2nd game 162 (that is a good game for me) and a 205!!  Wow!  Best game ever without any help is a 202!  My average is a 143!!  Am I jazzed?  Just a bit.  A 265 is a good score and it was just unbelievable.  This old gal still has a little kick left! ha!  Would love to say it was the real thing but close enough for now.  

 Meanwhile, back at the ranch, we are still in our holding mode, so to speak with our association.  It's nuts and not worth explaining here but suffice it to say, we volunteered and are now in a fight - ridiculous as it sounds, sadly it's true. 

 The hummingbirds are out in droves today.  I have seen so many in a very short amount of time.  It's cloudy and overcast (possible rain tonight or tomorrow) and flowers are not in plenty now but temps are cooler.  

 I am off to a fused glass class - learning how to be artistic!  Could be fun.  I'll pick up my 1st items today and we'll see how they did (after cooking in the kiln). ha!  The other day I did a painting of furniture class with a neighbor so despite everything we are still out there learning and "doing" things. ha!

Hingham, MA

Before leaving Hingham I finally was able to get a picture of this sign.  Massachusetts has one for each of their towns and it's such a kick to drive from one town to another and see this sign with date of settlement started.  Hard to get pictures because you don't know where the town line begins and there is no place to pull over for a quick stop and picture.  It's a bummer. On this one I was lucky enough after a month to be driving towards sign and 1st at stoplight with camera next to me. ha!  All these towns are so historic and have some wonderful history.  Too bad so many have been neglected.  Roads are terrible in most places and some are really run down while others thrive.. just like anywhere.  Just interesting observations. I was taken so much with Hingham because we lived there for 5 weeks and it was so CLEAN!  Loved the manicured yards and over 1800 historic homes and some still in residence of 13 generations!  That is something in this young country with so littl

Taliesin West

We were surprised to have Earl III come down for a very short visit in Aug 2017 and took him up to Sedona and Taliesin West to see Frank Lloyd Wright's art school.  Very interesting tour and unique setting.  Of course homes are crowding in on this area now so not the seclusion that was intended when originally built.

Mr Hawk

It was a bit of a surprise to see this guy swoop down on this dove at our "quail block" the other day.  He sat there looking around long enough for us to get a few pictures then flew off to eat in private.  Thank goodness he took the dove with him instead of feasting right there.  They have to eat too; and all that but it is disturbing to come out and see a pile of feathers.  I can speak from past experience they do not leave anything behind besides feathers.. no skin or bones or waste...  Pretty isn't it...
